Knowledge Management Team 

Investment Banking heavily relies on fundamental and market knowledge as well as industry expertise to provide the best advice to its clients.  Knowledge Managers are accountable for providing that content and expertise.  The successful candidate will come on board as a Knowledge Management analyst or associate, depending on prior work experience.   


Role Responsibilities 

• Researching and critically analysing market information, industry data and trends 
• Contribute in the creation of pitches to clients. Provide valuable insight on significant market/industry events within the TMT/Industrials space 
• Continue to develop and improve the process and practice of knowledge and content management within TMT/Industrials 
• In partnership with the Global KM team, build and maintain standard industry pages, models and analytics pertinent to the sub-sectors covered within TMT/Industrials 
• Contribute to new business targeting and help manage the screening and targeting efforts in partnership with sector captains 
• Contribute to the development of KM and Corporate Finance analysis tools to improve the efficiency of junior bankers 
• Provide guidance for bankers in accessing, compiling, manipulating, and downloading data from databases available on banker desktops 
• In partnership with Compliance and Banking Technology, be able to understand and explain copyright and data usage issues 


Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with excellent academic credentials 
• Previous Knowledge Management work, or experience in Equity Research or Consulting preferred 
• Experience working in client-facing situations 
• Experience working with and managing vendor relationships 
• Experience with Project Management 
• Experience with TMT products (IDC, Gartner, Screen Digest etc.) preferred

Job Purpose:
Given the size and the breadth of the portfolio, Diversified Industrials (DI) represents an important growth opportunity for the Bank. We are looking for a Senior Analyst/Associate who can drive idea generation across the region, identify new opportunities with existing clients and selectively add new ones to reduce the white space between Coverage and Universe. This is a role for a commercially minded self-starter who is looking for a stretch assignment with the right levels of support and coaching.
You will assist Senior Bankers in EMEA in business origination. You will also work very closely with our Product Partners across the Citi product suite to identify new opportunities.
Key to your success will be to align yourself with the DI Investment Banking team to maximise the client level impact, to ensure that Citi is positioned early on for acquisition and other episodic financing opportunities and to drive those transaction to close.
Another critical relationship will be with the Risk team. You provide financial analysis, risk assessment and analytical support for some of the key DI relationships and you will work together with Risk on new opportunities (clients or product initiatives).
For UK based clients, your role also includes assisting clients in day-to-day and episodic matters. To do this successfully, you will need to master credit as well as capital and network management processes.
Job Background/context:
Citi’s Corporate and Investment Bank provides financial advisory services on a wide range of strategic transactions (including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and re-structuring), capital-raising projects and debt financing projects, for corporate clients, financial institutions and governments worldwide. We also provide FX and other Risk Management solutions to our clients as well as Cash Management and Trade Finance services. Our bankers work closely with our other business units across the world to ensure client access to the full range of products and expertise within the organisation.
The position sits within the Corporate Banking Diversified Industrials (DI) team.  The Banker will support the client business in EMEA.  The role involves a reasonable amount of client contact both face-to-face and by phone.
Diversified Industrials is one of the most complex portfolios in the Corporate Bank. It is divided into several sub-sectors – Capital Goods, Construction and Building Materials, Business Services, Aerospace and Defence and Paper and Packaging. The portfolio revenues stand at $589mm with 23% growth year-on-year. The revenue mix is balanced, consisting of MandA, CMO, LPM, Markets and TTS.

You will be exposed to multiple sub-sectors and multiple relationship teams throughout EMEA. You will also work very closely with our DI Investment Banking colleagues, multiple Products as well as the Risk team.

Key Responsibilities:
You will identify new opportunities within the EMEA DI Portfolio and originate new business on back of it
• Partner with Banking teams across the region to drive relationship uptiering with client specific, tailored content and client calling
• Partner with Product teams to identify ‘white space’ and to agree on required Product support / prioritisation to champion initiatives and deliver on opportunities
• Prospect new clients in partnership with Risk Management
Provide industry context by creating and sharing of industry insights with our Bankers
• Generate subsector reports to communicate industry trends and themes

You will be a member of deal team for the origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions 
• Provide top notch complex credit and capital structure analysis both for internal and marketing purposes (financial modelling as well as credit and returns analysis)
• Produce best in class presentations to support the marketing effort
• Coordinate the contribution of different partners within the firm (Investment Banking, CMO, TTS, Markets, Risk and local coverage teams)

Assist in managing the Corporate Banking relationships for UK DI clients
• Develop relationship with the clients’ head office teams as well as with key subsidiaries.
• Engage daily with clients to deliver Citi’s full product set (flow and episodic) across the globe.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the developments in the core product set to explore and refer opportunities.
• Maintain regular and frequent dialogue with product partners to deliver against the client agenda.

• Oversee credit analysis activities for a specified client set (transaction and periodic credit reviews).
• Risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships including periodic review of financial results and statements to monitor operating performance, liquidity position and financial condition, peer analysis, identifying industry trends and outlook and preparation of financial projections and sensitivity analysis.
The senior analyst/associate will develop (i) in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the business, (ii) an understanding of clients’ priorities with the aim of identifying appropriate marketing opportunities (iii) strong relationships internally with key product, risk and regional partners and (iv) in-depth knowledge of an industry sub-sector.
